WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND PARTICIPATION IN ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES AS INDISPENSABLE TOOLS FOR SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT IN ANAMBRA STATE

📄 Project Abstract

This study was carried out to examine women empowerment and participation in economic activities as developmental tools in the society in Anambra State. It also examined sources of funds available for women in economic activities, the extent of women participation, major economic activities engaged by women, their constraints and strategies for enhancing women participation in economic activities. Survey research designs and copies of structured questionnaire were used for data collection. The questionnaires were administered to 405 women engaged in economic activities randomly selected through stratified random sample technique from 6 out of the 21 local government Areas of the state. 351 copies of the questionnaires were recovered and analyzed for the study.
