📄 Project Abstract

This project sets out to solve the problem of inconsistent module difficulty levels within the School of Computing. The aim of the project is to develop a method by which modules can be compared, through the grades of students, to show if there is inconsistency in the way modules are assessed. Test data must first be selected from the School's SIS database of historical records. These data require careful preparation in order to select an appropriate subset of the available information. Potential methods are developed and tested using the records extracted from the database. These tests are used to justify the suitability, or otherwise, of the methods. Lastly, a short description is made of a method by which these tests could be implemented as part of an automated system to aid School of Computing staff or examiners in regulating module standards.
