VOCATIONAL NEEDS AND ASPIRATIONS OF IN-SCHOOL AND OUT-OF- SCHOOL SECONDARY SCHOOL FEMALES IN ANKPA EDUCATION ZONE OF KOGI STATE

📄 Project Abstract

This study was carried out to investigate the vocational needs and aspirations of in-school and out-of-school secondary school females in Ankpa Education Zone of Kogi state, Nigeria. The design for the study was survey. Senior in-school and out-of-school secondary school females were used. The population was 2725 females. Then, 500 was used as sample which consist of 250 in-school and 250 out-of-school secondary school females. Four research questions were posed and two hypotheses was formulated to guide the study. An instrument called vocational needs and aspirations questionnaire (VNAQ) was used to collect the data. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer research questions 1 & 2 and percentages were used to answer research questions 3 & 4. Independent t-test was used to test hypothesis I while the Pearson's Chi-square was used to test hypothesis 2 at 0.05 level of significance.
