Visualisation of Simulated Sports Performance Data

📄 Project Abstract

Visualisation can play a very important role in allowing users to comprehend the impact of various statistics in sports, gaining insights which would not have been possible if the user were to just look at a data set as a whole. When visualisation techniques have been applied correctly to a data set it is possible to see patterns (if there are any patterns to discern from the data) within that data that could help improve performance and efficiency in the domain the data was obtained. Statistics and data collection are becoming more and more important for teams, coaches, physiotherapists etc. in various sports. These users can use the statistics collected to determine how to improve performance from a player a whole team, gain insight into how the opposition play or when a player may be close to suffering from burnout and having a high risk of injury.
