Using NETIMIS to model process improvements for NHS care pathways: A case study approach
📄 Project Abstract
The National Health Service (NHS) is responsible for providing care across the country to the entire UK population, either providing care directly or contracting services out to third party providers. It is well reported within the UK press that the NHS often faces challenges regarding its budget and efficiency. Improvements to care pathways are one way in which the NHS can deliver improved efficiencies and patient experiences. This report details the gathering of data and the modelling and simulation of current and proposed care pathways, leading to the drawing of clear comparisons. The report exemplifies the use of the software tool NETIMIS in relation to modelling and simulating care pathways, whilst demonstrating the tools capabilities applied to real world situations.
