The exponential growth of online multimedia has been exploited by many industries, including the education industry. Many educational tools have now been developed to take advantage of this and provide classes as online videos, reaching wider number of students than ever before. However, there is an issue with video based learning, which is that learning through watching a video can be a much more passive process than learning in a classroom. Students can often lose attention as the video does not require any interaction from them. Many Video based learning systems are trying to rectify this, by creating a more active experience through interactive functionality. When using the system, the learners leave interaction traces that can provide insights into their engagement with the videos.
