📄 Project Abstract
In the last decade (2006 - 2016) the problems of housing provision remain recurrent and is often characterised by rapid population growth beyond the means to provide one; the need for better designs and housing deficits especially in urban areas. Proffered solutions have included mass housing estates, storey buildings and low-cost housing schemes. Most of these schemes recorded little or no success as the intended end users, people better suited to provide valuable information about their required housing needs being left out of the process, giving rise to post-occupancy reconstruction and abandonment problems.
