Traffic Flow Simulator
📄 Project Abstract
Ever growing road traffic in the developing world creates flow problems on roads. Occurrences like closing a lane, traffic police cars and speed cameras all have adverse affects on the flow of traffic. Since the roads of a country are so vital to its transport infrastructure it is important to minimize adverse effects on traffic flow. Knowledge regarding the consequences for traffic flow can be learnt in many ways including simulation. The aim of this project is to create a simple traffic flow simulator. The scope for the simulation of traffic conditions and events is almost limitless. This project has implemented a simulator that models a set of conditions on an idealised road. The simulator has been used to model different situations. It is hoped that the simulator can be extended in the future. This is discussed in the project and reflected in the simulator design.
