📄 Project Abstract

The School of Computing (SOC) at The University of Leeds is a department with more than five hundred students and about fifty different modules, divided over four undergraduate and three master programmes. Most of the modules consist of two hours of timetabled lectures and some might have some extra help sessions. Some of the modules require group projects. Each group could have some number of students from the same or different degree programmes. The problem is to find available slot/slots for all the members of a group to have group meetings. 1.2 Finding Free Slots Finding free slots for so many students doing different degree programmes is difficult. The reason for developing timetable group software is that there is none already available. The SOC has as Information Systems (SIS) which holds information about which modules students are enrolled on and which slots are timetabled for each module.
