The Use of Information Systems within the School of Computing

📄 Project Abstract

This report set out to achieve two key objectives, which have been achieved. They were: · To review the use of computer-based info rmation systems within the School of Computing. · To recommend how these systems might be more effectively managed and used. The study initially had two requirements that were the minimum deliverable in order for the report to be considered a success. These were: · To catalogue the Local Information Systems, their functions and users. · Proposals of how current working methods could be improved. These have not only been met by the report, but exceeded. Initially, the scope of the study only included local systems (that is, the systems that are maintained and developed within the School), but was extended due to the introduction of a new, University wide system.
