📄 Project Abstract
Since its introduction in 1995, and adoption as an OMG standard in 1997, the Unified Modelling Language has become the de facto standard for modelling software development. However, as with all new languages it is not without its problems. The aim of the project is to investigate into the teaching of UML. Current methods of teaching will be evaluated and recommendations made as to how the teaching of UML can be improved. The objectives of the project or as follows: * Research into UML and why it needs to be taught. * Research into how UML is taught * Finding out which parts of UML are difficult to learn. * Find improvements to be made in methods of teaching UML effectively. * Evaluate recommendations. The project has achieved all the objectives as set out above. It is a detailed report into which parts of UML students found difficult to understand and introduced recommendations into how the teaching of UML can be improved.
