In the world of uncertainties, risk is the one ever present variable in investment decision making. Once Management has a clear cut view of the relationship between risk and returns on investment, rules for undertaking investments can be developed. It is the return on investment which determines the extent of risk the investor can accept. The return on investment also determines to a large extent the demand and price for any given security. It all boils down to the fact that a proper insight can only be gained about any stock market if the relationship between the return on investment and price of shares is properly explored.
