THE EXTENT OF DISCRIMINATION AND STIGMATIZATION ON PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV AND AIDS AND STRATEGIES FOR ELIMINATING THEM IN ONDO STATE
📄 Project Abstract
This study was undertaken to ascertain the extent to which People Living with HIV and AIDS are stigmatized and discriminated against in Ondo State. Discrimination and stigmatization are among the serious factors influencing the spread of HIV and AIDS. Four research questions and two null hypotheses guided the study. Descriptive survey design was adopted in the study. Questionnaire titled: Discrimination and Stigmatization on People Living with HIV and AIDS was designed by the researcher for data collection and validated by 3 experts from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics {Mean and Standard deviation}. t-test was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is low extent of Discrimination and Stigmatization on People Living with HIV and AIDS in many issues.
