📄 Project Abstract

A need to further explore E-Learning exists in the lack of content-specific comparative studies. There are plenty of comparative studies that have explored the boundaries of virtual environments with that of the traditional classroom (referenced throughout the report), however very few that insist on identical content. A module at Leeds University, ACOM 1770 Web Design, offered the chance to bridge the gap in existing research to further explore E-learning, in the sense that it was possible to evaluate how specific content delivered traditionally through lectures could be virtualised in an online environment. Previous research has proven that online learning can be as effective as traditional, face-to-face lectures, however very little has shown how. How is virtual learning achieved? And more importantly, what is it that makes E-learning more than simply accessing information? ACOM1770 offers a variety of skills, lessons and code needed in Web Design, however its uniqueness lies with i...
