📄 Project Abstract
The study aimed at determining whether English-Hausa code-switching can serve as a strategy for teaching content development, organization, expression and mechanical accuracy in essay writing to the Arabic medium students. The subjects who participated in the study of N.C.E 1 Arabic Medium students in their General English course from Department of Arabic in SRCOE, Kumbotso. Simple percentages were used to analyze the marks awarded. The result reveals that students competence before treatment was very low and caused by such factors as low proficiency in the use of language, and the misapplication of rules, as well as the interference of the first language [MT]of the subjects. This study examines the effects of English-Hausa code switching as a strategy for teaching essay writing to Arabic Medium students in SaadatuRimi College of Education, Kumbotso,Kano.
