Technologies For Securing On-line Credit Card Transactions

📄 Project Abstract

The project investigated the tools and technologies that are used to make on-line credit card transactions secure. The project highlights the problems that have been encountered by consumers using credit cards on-line and explores the fundamental building blocks that underpin the security techniques used on the Internet today. All the research undertaken has been made available to the consumer via a web site which is intended to reassure them about any doubts they have about using the Internet to purchase goods and services. The investigative part of the project is intended to carry a weighting of 90% and the web site is intended to add further value to the project by making the research available to all. The target audience for the report is undergraduate students studying a computer science related discipline and other computing academics.
