📄 Project Abstract

This topic researched on was Teachers' Perception of the Impact of Universal Basic Education Programme on the Girl-child Education in Nsukka Education Zone of Enugu State. A-26 items questionnaire was developed by the research and administered to 380 respondents in Nsukka Education Zone of Enugu State. Means and standard deviation were used to answer the three research questions whereas the t-test statistics was used to test the three research hypotheses that guided the study. It was the opinions of the primary school teachers that UBE aims at promotion of higher female enrollment in schools, reducing the load of domestic work on girls, breaks the cycle of poverty among others. The opinions of the teachers show that the problems of UBE are high cost of education poverty among the people etc. The respondents were of the opinion that the measures to improve the girl-child education through the UBE are the elimination of all forms of discrimination, high budgeting allocation to education ...
