📄 Project Abstract

research questions and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A descriptive survey design was adopted in carrying out the study. A proportionate purposive sampling procedure was used to compose a sample of 959 medical and para-medical professionals from Lagos State. A questionnaire was used in the collection of data. Frequencies mean score, standard deviation and t-test statistics were used to answer the research questions and test the hypotheses. The results of the analyses among others showed that relaxation techniques, proactive (constructive) skills, cognitive self-control, social support and direct action strategies are identified as being used in coping with job-stress and burnout. Equally all the identified strategies are effective. Finally the results showed that there is no significant difference in the proposed hypotheses. Based on the findings, the implications of the study were highlighted and recommendations made.
