📄 Project Abstract

This research work examined and focused on staff training and development in public sector, a case study of Edo Broadcasting Service Benin City, Edo State. The study was based on the hypotheses that staff training and development improves job performance of staff of well as motivates them for effective performance. In order to generate data for the study, the survey design was used in which 60 respondents were sampled and structured questionnaire was employed in gathering data for the study. The data were properly analysed in chapter four, using simple percentages. The findings include: that Edo Broadcasting service hardly sends staff for training programmes and if they do it, its not a regular exercise, hence job performance is poor Also, most of the staff that have gone for training confirm that it motivates them for better performance on their job.
