📄 Project Abstract

In my experience, management seem to have unexplainable problems with writing a roster, be it a staff roster for a business or business subsidiary, or indeed a timetable of a student's class times and venues. Obviously each problem is different and some are very complex, but surely all will have very similar aspects even if they take a different form, dependant on the problem. My aim for this project is to devise a solution to a specific rostering problem, which I intend to design so that it has al evel of adaptability to other problems of a similar genre. The specific rostering problem which I have chosen to investigate is one particularly relevant to myself. I will develop an algorithm or a set of algorithms to produce a solution for a staff rost ering problem based loosely upon my own part-time job in a bar in Leeds city centre.
