Sources And Management Of Stress Among Administrative And Technical Staff Of States Sport Councils In Nigeria

The purpose of this study was to investigate the sources and management of stress among the administrative and technical staff of States Sport Councils in Nigeria. An ex-post facto research design was used for this study. The population for the study was the male and female administrative staff and technical staff of States Sport Councils. A questionnaire was used to collect the data for this study in eleven states selected from the six geo-political zones of the country through stratified and purposive sampling technique (two states from each stratum and Abuja). The data collected were statistically analyzed using t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) at 0.05 level of significance. It was found that the major sources of stress experienced by both employees of States Sport Councils was work-related sources of stress and that the most appreciated strategy used by both of them to manage stress was social support.
