📄 Project Abstract

The first objective of the project was to research the theory behind Point Distribution Models. For instance what they were used for, how they were created, the stages of creation, and where there was a problem in the creation process. The second and main objective, was to develop a software tool which would aid in the training process of Point Distribution Models. The tool would simplify the process of selecting points around an object to form the model. The tool would contain various functions and features to help in the training process, such as graphical displays with built in zoom functions. The third objective dealt looked at how the output of the software tool could be used to fully implement Point Distribution Models. For instance finding a suitable format to output results from the tool. The project did succeed in completing its objectives.
