Robotic Learning in a Simulated Environment
📄 Project Abstract
This report depicts the development and testing of robotic learning within a simulated environment. The main aspects of the project are to design and build a suitable simulated environment for the robot to navigate, populate the environment with objects that the robot can interact with, as this will be a necessary part of the robots learning. If successful the robot will have the ability to acquire new knowledge of the objects which it interacts with, this knowledge will be used to estimate key feature about the environment the robot inhabits. Artificial intelligence techniques and machine learning algorithms will be used to demonstrate that the robot can learn and hopefully obtain substantial results. To investigate this, the environment and the robot must be made, this will be done using ROS (Robotic Operating System) as it is a suitable software choice as it provides ample libraries, tutorials and has flexible functionality.
