RETIREMENT COPING STRATEGIES OF RETIREES OF TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN TARABA STATE OF NIGERIA
📄 Project Abstract
The study was carried out to assess the coping strategies adopted by retirees from tertiary institutions in Taraba State, Nigeria. Four research questions and two null hypotheses guided the study. The study employed descriptive survey research design. The population for the study was 400 retirees from tertiary institutions in the State between the years 2007 and 2010. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire titled Retirees Coping Strategies Questionnaire (RCSQ). The data generated for the study was analysed using mean and standard deviation for answering the research questions while t-test statistics was used for testing the research hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of this study showed that the coping strategies adopted by retirees of tertiary institutions in Taraba State include: belonging to retirees association, getting another job, getting more involved in religious and community activities, that gender is a factor in the adoption of...
