RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS AND LIFESTYLES OF THE PEOPLE OF KADUNA STATE
📄 Project Abstract
The study examined the relationship between demographic factors and lifestyles of the people of Kaduna State. The lifestyle factors of smoking, alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle, nutritional habit, drug habit and sexual behaviour constitute the dependent variables. While the demographic characteristics of age, gender, location, socio-economic status, religion, marital and educational status constitute the independent variables. Ex-post facto research design with a 7 x 6 non-experimental factorial subdesign was used. The design afforded the researcher opportunity to juxtapose two or more independent variables in order to study their relationship on the dependent variables. Stratified and cluster random sampling techniques were used to select samples for the study. A total of 1350 randomly selected respondents were used for the study.
