QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF CARBAZOLE ALKALOIDS FROM CRUDE PLANT EXTRACT (Glycosmis pentaphylla of family Rutaceae) USING GAS LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY
📄 Project Abstract
Quantitation of carbazole alkaloids (Carbazole, 3-Methyl Carbazole.Glycozoline and Glycozolidine) was carried out using Gas-Liquid Chromatography (GLC ). This was -the first time a quantitative work was undertaken on carbazole alkaloids(C) A stock solution of 1mg/ml in chloroform was prepared of each of the above mentioned carbazole alkaloids(C) Appropriate working concentration were prepared by suitable dilutions of various stock solutions .with chloroform. Heptazolidine , (lmg/ml) in chloroform, was used as the internal standard ( i . s .) The plant extract (Glycosmis Pentaphylla of family Rutaceas) solution (unknown sample) was prepared by drawing a drop (weighed 23mg) from the light Petroleum extract by using a clean glass rod and diluting it to 5ml with chloroform. The I.S.
