The term surveillance is a word that is gotten from the French word surveiller meaning "oversee" or "watchover". The term "surveillance" is used to describe a wide range of activities that involves the society and its activities being observed. However, The collecting and analysis of personal data drawn from digital communication channels, frequently by automated technology which enables real-time data aggregation and categorization, and review of vast volumes of metadata and information is referred to as media surveillance.(Adrian and Allie 2019). Journalists could monitor social media to track the actions of individuals and social media users to obtain news by using social media platforms.
