PROMOTION OF LIBRARY SERVICES IN SELECTED PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN NIGERIA

📄 Project Abstract

The study examined the services provided by public libraries, strategies of promoting public library services, methods of supporting the promotion of public library services, level of success in promotion of public library services and factors militating against the successful promotion of public library services. The survey method of conducting research was used for the study. Questionnaires were administered to seven public libraries located in some of the state library boards of the country, viz: Kaduna, Plateau, Lagos, Ondo. ..Edo, Enugu. and Cross River States. This w as followed with personal visits to these libraries by the researcher in other to gather more data for the study All the questionnaires administered were returned completed, thus giving a response rate of one hundred percent.
