📄 Project Abstract

The study investigated personality, home influence and the academic achievement of girls in Kaduna State Science Secondary Schools. The sample of (N=250) was drawn from SSII students from five Girls' Secondary Schools in the state i.e. Giwa, Soba, Kaduna, Zonkwa and Kwoi. The data was collected using two questionnaires: the Home Environment Questionnaire and the Junior Eysenck Personality Inventory (JEPI). The student's academic performance was obtained by collecting the average scores in their past examination records of three terms in English and Mathematics. These are the compulsory subjects in the secondary schools. The Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient technique was use>d to test five out of the six hypotheses. The results found no significant relationship between the Home Environment, Personality disposition i.e Introvertion, Extravertion or Neuroticism with academic achievement.
