Globally, health problems are on the increase among human population. The increase involves a wide spectrum of situations ranging from personal, social, cultural and environmental dimensions, among which is the abuse of alcohol by people. The abuse of alcohol across Africa which now involves both local and industrialized types of alcoholic beverages may cut across many African countries as found in South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria (Rileye & Marshall, 1999). It is observed that alcohol abuse, which is regarded as a public and social health problem, has currently been on the increase with the adolescents (ages 12 to 24years) of both sexes (Odejide, 2006). Excessive uncontrollable drinking resulting to alcohol abuse may also be on the increase now than ever before, especially in countries where alcohol use may be largely permissive.
