📄 Project Abstract

The incidence of mental illness in our society is obvious on the increase. Factors is such as poor economy, bereavement psychoactive substance intake, political crisis have contributed a great deal to the causes of mental illness. The etiological factor of mental and behavioural disorder secondary to cannabis abuse is indiscriminate use of hard drugs, over curiosity, search for pleasure, peer group influence, strive for over confidence, over zealousness, nearness to drugs e.g. nurses, pharmacist etc. The illness is not without social implication such as isolation, stigmatization, unemployment, divorce, loss of job, school dropouts, increase in crime rate e.g kidnappers, armed robbers, etc, and financial handicapped. Illicit drug users in our society require prompt and immediate attention so as to control the menace caused by the use of hard substance like cannabis.
