📄 Project Abstract

This paper empirically examined the relationship between oil revenue, non-oil revenue and economic growth in Nigeria over the period of 1981 to 2019 employing time series data, Augmented Dickey fuller test, Phillips-Perron test, Johansen Co-integration test and the lag length test, long run estimation dynamics and short run estimation dynamics all representing the estimation techniques. Findings from the analysis reveals that oil revenue has a positive significant effect on economic growth, however, in a special case like Nigeria where the resource theory is evident, it can be said that the government should invest massively in the non-oil sector so as to yield maximum result and boost economic growth. The result conducted also shows that non-oil revenue has a positive significant effect on economic growth.
