📄 Project Abstract

Cancer is responsible for the deaths of approximately 16% of all people, making it one of the leading causes of death[1]. Gaining an insight into how we can limit the spread of cancer is crucial in the process of reducing these types of statistics. This project will allow the user to personalise the layout of a grid of cells and create a simulation with a number of variables that can be configured, to model using a cellular automaton how malignant cells may spread with the option of applying an anti-cancer drug to influence the spread also. The results of the simulation are displayed in the form of graphs and can be stored by the user to analyse and compare with other simulations how cancer spread can be influenced by different drugs and other factors such as permeability of a cell.
