Mapping and Simulation of Pests and Disease within an Enclosed Agricultural Environment
📄 Project Abstract
This projects aim is to provide a digital method of reporting and recording locations of known pests and diseases within an enclosed agricultural environment. Farmers and Producers are under increasingly large amounts of pressure to account for and selectively apply chemicals to prevent wider environmental effects; part of this process requires justification for biological control or chemicals applied. Current methods for recording information about pests and diseases are paper based or non-existent, which with newly emerging external interest is no longer adequate. This report will follow the progression of the project from prior knowledge within the domain, through to developing two software components. The first capable of recording problems using a mobile device and GPS technology. The second is capable of mapping, simulation and historical reporting of pests and disease within an agricultural environment.
