MANPOWER PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE NIGERIAN BANKING SECTOR: A CASE STUDY OF OCEANIC BANK PLC NSUKKA BRANCH

This research work assesses the manpower planning and development in the Nigerian banking sector using of Oceanic Bank Plc Nsukka Branch as a case study. The study contends that manpower is a fundamental organizational resource which needs to be properly planned, trained and developed in order to enable the achievement of organizational goals. The data used in this study were collected from both primary and secondary sources. The primary method or sources of data collection included the use of a research instrument (the questionnaire) and oral interview. Some research questions were asked as guide to the respondents in order to elicit first hand information on the subject matter. The questionnaire contained twenty four structured questions designed in both open and close ended style. In addition, the questionnaire was validated and administered accordingly.
