Managing and Improving the Coursework Schedule within the School of Computing

📄 Project Abstract

Students who study courses within the School of Computing at the University of Leeds must undertake coursework as part of the assessment for their degrees. This project has looked at improved methods of scheduling coursework in order to create better schedules for students. Additionally, improved methods of gathering information about coursework from teaching staff have been developed. On first inspection, this project might look as if it has developed two separate systems; a scheduling system and a management system. While this is true to an extent, these systems are in fact very closely related. The scheduling part has looked at ways of modelling coursework schedules and ways of solving these models in order to generate better schedules of coursework for students. The management part of the project has overcome the rather inefficient system of setting coursework within the School.
