📄 Project Abstract

This paper contains an investigation into scene modelling, using actions to determine areas of importance. The areas extracted will be salient with respect to certain actions and can be useful in the description of a particular scene. This is approached from an object based perspective as opposed to feature based. Using this method, objects size and position are observed to determine the nature of the actions they are performing. It is proposed that observing these less detailed features will result in a more robust system. The methods being investigated include feature based and machine learning approaches to classification, simple filtering techniques, normalisation and clustering.
