📄 Project Abstract

This work entitled: "La trahison dans Et pourtant, elle pleurait et Christine dIsaie Biton Koulibaly" discussed the concept of betrayal. In order to better understand this theme, we used two approaches namely: Psychoanalytic and sociological approaches. With these two approaches, we looked at how Koulibaly presented the issue of betrayal in the society. The work revealed the incidences of betrayal using the major characters as presented by Koulibaly in his two books used in this study. This research further discussed betrayal from different perspectives in the society especially betrayal in marriage, betrayal in religion, betrayal of secret and betrayal generally. Further, the study presented some of the consequences of betrayal including illness, loss of integrity, abandonment and death. The study concluded that betrayal will be reduced and avoided when people uphold integrity, dignity and respect of self and one another.
