As we go about our everyday lives, we come across situations that require a little bit of translation here and there. This is so because communication has to be effectively done before comprehension could be satisfactorily achieved. Infact, the need for translation is more pronounced and necessary in respect of the French language in an anglophone country like Nigeria. There are various types of translation, depending on the situations or needs at a given point in time. Principal among these include: Professional translation, scientific translation, technical translation, Literary translation, Automatic translation and pedagogical translation. The last type of translation stated above, that is, pedagogical translation shall form the basis of this study. This is the type used by teachers and or users of foreign languages.
