📄 Project Abstract

The aim of the project was to implement a model of Feature-based Attention in macaque area MT which would have an alternative microcircuit model that would be simpler, better and would be achieving the same results as previously produced model. To do so I have investigated the main modulations considered in the model I want to improve which were Biased competition produced by Desimone and Duncan and Feature-similarity gain principle produced by Treue & Trujillo. The main difference of my model is that it avoided the excitatory loop in the model produced by Ardid, Wang, and Compte and created a different circuit to achieve the same results. My model has an input layer retina, motion sensitive area middle temporal cortex, working memory prefrontal cortex having attentional effects on the MT (middle temporal cortex) and Lateral Intraparietal Cortex while the model it is being compared to has input layer primary visual cortex, motion sensitive are MT and working memory PFC.
