IMPACT OF MONETARY POLICY ON FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF MANUFACTURING FIRMS IN NIGERIA
📄 Project Abstract
Monetary policy over decades has been one of the key driving forces behind economic management adopted by governments to shape and enhance the performance of the sectors and the whole economy of a country at large. This study examines the effect of monetary policy on the performance of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. This study adopted the New Keynesian model as the theoretical framework. The study employs a quantitative research design to test the research hypotheses of whether or not monetary policy has an effect on the performance of Nigeria's manufacturing sector. To ensure a robust data analysis, the Ordinary Least Square method of Regression analysis, the Unit Root test and the Johansen Co-Integration analysis were employed with the aid of EVIEWS 9.0 and the study found Interest and inflation rates have no significant impact on the performance of Nigeria's manufacturing firms.
