The focus of this study is on factors affecting workers performance in the civil service. A case study of Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST). However, the best cannot be achieved from the workers if their needs and aspiration which they expect from their employers are not forth coming. This is to say that needs and aspiration instigate the behaviour pattern that an employee is likely to put up towards his work. In view of the important role played by workers towards the realization of an organizational goal like the Nigeria Postal Service, agency that prompted the researcher to carry out a study on this topic. It is the purpose of this research project to find out the factors responsible for poor performance in the civil service, the study concentrated on motivational factors, leadership style, interpersonal relationship existing in the organization and training and development.
