EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND SOCIAL SUPPORT AS PREDICTORS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING AMONG UNDERGRADUATES OF EBONYI STATE UNIVERSITY
📄 Project Abstract
This study investigated Emotional Intelligence and Social Support as predictors of Psychological well-being among undergraduates of Ebonyi state University Abakaliki. Participants were two hundred and sixty six (266) undergraduates of Ebonyi state university, Abakaliki who were randomly selected among the population of undergraduates in the institution. Their ages ranged between 16 to 35 years with a mean age of 23.13 years (SD = 3.27). Cross sectional design was adopted. Regression result showed that control variables age ( = .53, t = -7.98), gender ( = .53, t = -7.98), and marital status were not significant predictors of psychological well-being among undergraduates. Emotional intelligence was a significant positive predictor of psychological well-being among undergraduates ( = .17, t = 2.76, p< .01).
