DEVELOPMENT OF A REPORTING SYSTEM FOR FACILITATING ONLINE ANALYTICS OF STUDENT ACADEMIC RECORDS

📄 Project Abstract

This study identified an existing challenge in the area of analysis of student records and the use of reports for decision making process in higher institution. It thereafter developed a computerized web-based online reporting system that can be adopted by academic institutions to assess and review academic performance based on student academic records by identifying the requirements of the system, specifying the design and implementing the designed system. In order to meet the outlined objectives, a review of literature was carried out to understand the existing systems and their limitations after which informal interviews were conducted with prospective users so as to identify the requirement of the system which was the designed using appropriate unified modelling language (UML) diagrams.
