DEPOSIT AND LOANS MANAGEMENT IN COMMERCIAL BANKS: A STUDY OFSELECTED BANKS IN NIGERIA
📄 Project Abstract
This work is a study of activities related to the management of deposits and loans by the commercial banks in Nigeria. Specifically Tropical Commercial Bank, Afribank and Credit Lyonnais. The study was set out to find out what methods and strategies these hanks use in attracting optimum deposits and subsequently how the credits are evaluated. The findings which are the major work in chapters four and five indicated that availability of funds, and "competition" play the major role in determining interest on deposits. There seem to be a correlation betwee; customer volume and the banks premises aesthetics. Advertising was observed to be the major link between the banks and their public. In relation to credit management All the banks studied use conventional methods. It seems quantitative techniques is yet to be introduced.
