DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES AS PREDICTORS OF JOB PERFORMANCE OF LIBRARIANS IN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES IN SOUTH EAST NIGERIA
📄 Project Abstract
This study is an attempt to use the demographic or personal variables to determine the job performance of librarians in university libraries in South East Nigeria. In carrying out this study, five research questions were used in addition to two hypotheses that were tested at 0.05 levels of significance. The study was based on correlational research design. The population of the study consisted of 115 Librarians working in five federal university libraries in South East Nigeria. There was no sampling as the population was not large enough to warrant sampling. The instruments for data collection were questionnaire titled Demographic Variables for Job Performance Questionnaire (DVJPQ) and structured interview. The questionnaire items were adapted from Koopman's indicators of task and contextual performance. The instrument was face validated by experts in the field of library and information science.
