Over sixty percent of a bank earning is derived from the interplay of activities surrounding its loans and advances portfolio. The quality of these on their balance sheets over time portrays the growth and health of the bank. An abuse on this very important source of earning has been responsible for the collapse of financial institution that hitherto have been considered to be very vibrant. It is very important that such financial institution put in place structures that will protect expositors funds and avoid the lost of confidence in the system. They should also be seen to play their secondary role as channel through which government execute its monetary policies.
