COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTS OF FOREIGN PRIVATE CAPITAL INFLOWS ON SECTORAL OUTPUT IN NIGERIA

Domestic capital has remained insufficient over the years and as a result, there has been increasing upsurge of international capital inflow which take the form of foreign private capital and other forms of foreign direct investment. Despite the increasing inflow of foreign capital, Nigeria economy has remained stagnant especially the real sectors. This study did comparative analysis of the impact of foreign private capital inflow on the real sectors of Nigeria economy. The objectives of the study therefore are anchored on the investigating the impact of foreign private capital inflow on agricultural, manufacturing, building and construction and service sector. In order to achieve these objectives, the study adopted cointegration Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach due to the fact that some of the variables were integrated of order one while some are of order zero.
