COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES IN THE DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT AMONG FEDERAL UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES IN ENUGU AND ANAMBRA STATES
📄 Project Abstract
This, study investigated collection development practices in the digital environment among federal universities in Enugu and Anambra states. Six research questions were adopted for the study. The research questions cover criteria for selection of library resources for digital collection development in Nnamdi Azikiwe University and University of Nigeria, Nsukka libraries; methods of acquisition of resources in the digital environment of the university libraries under study; criteria that guide weeding in the digital environment of the two university libraries; measures applied in evaluating collections in the digital environment; challenges associated with collection development in the digital environment of the two libraries; strategies that enhance collection development in the digital environment of the two libraries.
