📄 Project Abstract

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) was established in 1971 by the Federal Government and was charged with the broad responsibility of manpower training and development. The enabling Decree No. 47 of 8th October, 1971 defined the objectives of the ITF as the promotion and encouragement of the acquisition of skills in industry and commerce with a view to generating a pool of indigenous trained manpower sufficient to meet the needs of the Nigerian economy. The main thrust of ITF programmes and services is to stimulate human performance, improve productivity, and induce value-added production in industry and commerce. The establishment of ITF is viewed as a positive step toward reducing the problems associated with the apparent shortage of indigenous trained manpower for our industry and commerce in Nigeria.
